A Better Regulation programme for commercial diplomats has become extremely important in the Professional body's (ACCD) attempts to demonstrate commitment to the United Nations principles for responsible education and of good practice, governance and to achieving the objectives of the Lisbon strategy for jobs and sustainable economic growth and the United Nations Global Compact principles.
Regulation are often given less attention than the "hardnosed" considerations of how much money can be saved by not introducing a new regulation or by reducing information obligation in an existing area of regulation, both need to be seen as equally important elements of Better Regulation. This is important if Better Commercial Diplomats Regulation is to enjoy wide support amongst the global practitioners of commercial diplomacy, members of ACCD and other stakeholders.

As the first and leading global professional body for trade, economic and commercial diplomats, ACCD is uniquely placed to offer seminars, professional training and research in the areas of global trade, development, policy, commercial diplomacy and anti-corruption. All the signs are that Better Commercial Diplomats Regulation at ACCD will continue to enjoy wide interest for the foreseeable future.
Expectations are, though, currently high as to what it can achieve, however, it is clear that there is substantial potential in terms of minimizing costs and promoting "good practice and governance" across all levels of governments, institutions and organisations. The Commercial Diplomacy Standards Board will continue to evaluate its policies: Procedures, methods, practices and standards.
