Qualified Certified Diplomat
Professional Accreditation
QCD is recognition of ability, integrity and competence of qualified commercial diplomats and is open to individuals who can satisfy council with significant career progression. Prospective candidates must be able to produce evidence of seniority and maturity of experience in commercial diplomatic field or any field which involves or promotes the advancement and professional practice of commercial diplomacy. Qualified Certified Diplomats (QCDs) are to safeguard, promote and protect the integrity of the unique profession of commercial diplomacy and the global Professional Body (The Association).
To qualify for accreditation candidates must:
- have completed the Level 8 Mandatory Qualifying Course
- have been in employment (Senior Executive level) with significant proven practical professional experience
- submit a portfolio of professional experience
be willing and able to actively support the mission of the global professional body - ACCD
Other Higher Doctorate route (PhD holders)
To qualify for accreditation candidates must:
- have completed a Higher Doctoral or postdoctoral programme or equivalent in a related field i.e International Trade Policy, International Trade and WTO Law, International Diplomacy, or International Relations;
- have been in employment (Senior Executive level) for more than twelve years with proven relevant practical professional experience in a related field;
- be able to submit a project (depending on years of proven practical professional experience) and or Portfolio of experience with an official supporting letter, followed by Peer Interview in order to qualify;
be willing and able to promote, contribute to and actively support the objectives of the global professional body; and
be a Fellow of Association of Certified Commercial Diplomats*
By Experience
To qualify for accreditation by experience candidates must:
- have completed a Level 7 Postgraduate Course;
- have been in employment (Senior Executive level) for more than twenty-five years with significant proven relevant professional experience in a related field;
- be a Fellow of Association of Certified Commercial Diplomats;
- submit a portfolio of professional experience, with an official (supporting) letter by an acceptable referee; and
be willing and able to actively support the mission and objectives of the global professional body - ACCD
Masters degree route
To qualify for accreditation candidates must:
- have completed a Masters degree programme or equivalent in commercial diplomatic affairs related field i.e International Trade Policy, International Trade and WTO Law/Commercial Law, International Diplomacy, International Arbitration or other related field;
- have been in employment for an aggregate of at least fifteen years with proven relevant practical professional experience in a related field (Senior Executive level);
- submit a project (depending on years of proven practical professional experience) and or Portfolio of experience with an official supporting letter, followed by Peer Interview;
be willing to promote, contribute to and actively support the objectives of the global professional body.
be an Associate of Association of Certified Commercial Diplomats*; and
be willing and able (depending on years of proven practical professional experience) to complete a mandatory qualifying course to cover modules which they have not already studied and are of paramount importance , in order to qualify.
